Video- Ceiling Fan Myth

The ceiling fans is a very good invention and can be used instead of air conditioning and work to save a bit of energy in that respects.

Of course the ceiling fan is mainly used for keeping people cool but is also used for suicide and for a hat..

How is it that people wear them for hat purposes?? Well I lied a bit about the hat, I am really talking about the fan falling on somebodys head and seriously hurting them..

Suicide isn’t the obvious “jumping head first into the blade” it is actually sadly done in the form of hanging. Because the fan is quite high up it is often used as a hanging point..

The biggest myth about the ceiling fan is that it can actually behead somebody. The reason for people thinking this could be because it is shown a lot in the media.. The television programme Mythbusters proved that by using a replica dummy of the human head that the blade would certainly tear the throat open which of course would lead to death but the fan could not actually behead anyone, which asks the question, where does all of this stuff about fan heaters and ceiling fans originate from?

Most likely from a film director wanting to get a bit of a shock from an audience after all this is what they are paid to do. So although many people have suffered their demises from the ceiling fan over the years it is very unlikely that anyone has been properly beheaded.

On a lighter note the ceiling fan amongst other inventions that include portable humidifiers and HEPA air purifier can actually be more useful to you than deadly.
